This rock kami / earth elemental nature spirit statue has such character and feels super strong in who he is. He's full of grounding and stability but also with a knowledge of what's really happening. He has a scar on his face ... he didn't seem to want me to remove it, and I feel like it's a mark of the pain the earth is feeling at the moment from mining, fires, pollution, etc.
To me, it seems like he wants to help people to reconnect to their wilderness and find their feet in the soil, but he also wants to encourage people to fight for the planet. To stop the scars.
He would be beautiful in a shrine or on a nature table, or perfect just as a friend to help keep you focused on what's really important. He's 3cm tall, and he's made of stoneware. He has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only natural materials.
