A cute little fox in his cute little house! Here is a beautiful, sweet, and joyful kitsune fox nature spirit sculpture with a Shinto shrine home all of his own. It's his little refuge where he can be safe and protected, and it has a small blue star painted right under the roof, because he is a star fox! The house is gently decorated with soft greenery and flowers; it feels like an old mountain cottage or even a shrine that's been left now in the care of nature. The kitsune kami himself feels full of magic and wonder, and he's very peaceful too.
The house shrine is 6cm tall and 8.5cm wide, and the fox is 3.3cm tall and 5.8cm long. They are both made of stoneware, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the beautiful effects of flame and smoke.
Kitsune are the fox-messengers of the Shinto kami Inari Okami: the deity of rice, sake, agriculture, fertility, tea, and prosperity, among other things, kitsune foxes guard Inari shrines and carry his/her messages to us.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, gentleness, and spirit to the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
