(6.7cm tall) Here is another very happy, kind, and loving Shinto Jizo talisman glazed in comforting blues and greens. They have a wonderful bird friend on their head to keep them company, and both Jizo and bird can keep you company! They feel like a combination of Jizo and nature spirit, a kami of peace, earth, and forgiveness. And this one is extra special because it's rain raku! Those little spiderweb patterns in the glaze are where raindrops fell on the sculpture when the glaze was still vitrifying. Natural magic!
Jizo and bird are made of stoneware, glazed with non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the gifts of fire and smoke.
Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
(I am happy to combine postage on all items. Please either message me before you order and I can create a custom listing, or just order and I'll refund any excess postage fees. Thank you!)
