(4.2cm tall) This lovely spirit is a quiet being of nature, one who lives under moon and stars during the magical hours of evening and dawn. It sings along with ancient stones and comforts little mice when they have nightmares; it just wants a peaceful place to live and friend with whom to share gentle adventures. And this one is extra special because it's rain raku! Those little spiderweb patterns in the glaze are where raindrops fell on the sculpture when the glaze was still vitrifying. Natural magic!
It is made of stoneware and has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
