(1.8cm tall) Here is a little Shinto Jizo pocket talisman of earth. He brings with him the energy of a peaceful and balanced planet; I hope he can share this energy with us too. He would be lovely for a kamidana or shrine.
He has been fired once, glazed with non-toxic glaze, and raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing gifts of smoke and flame.
Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic materials.
