This is a very special, very sacred kami spirit being. He's a forest spirit or god, an embodiment of nature and all life in the forest. I didn't set out to make him, but then he had antlers and a face and little legs, and there he was. I think he is part stag ... he's strong and noble, compassionate and kind. He's 8.9cm tall.
He has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only natural materials.
