This is a beautiful, natural, wild raku bowl for a shrine or altar, for ceremony, ritual, wishing, or offerings. It is simple but magical, full of promise and hope. I've fully glazed the inside but left some of the outside unglazed to blacken in the fire; the effect is minimalist yet wonderful.

This bowl is approximately 6.5cm in diameter and 3.9cm tall. It is made from stoneware and has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame. I have shaped it a little like a traditional tea bowl, but, although the glaze is completely non-toxic, raku pottery is not considered food safe due to the cracks that appear in the glaze as part of the firing process.

Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, gentleness, and spirit to the world.

I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials. Sculptures are painted with one coat of water-based varnish just for a little extra protection, however they are not waterproof or able to live outside. If you want yours to live in the garden, please contact me before making your purchase, and I’ll see what I can do.

(I am happy to combine postage on all items apart from clothes (which don't ship from me). Please either message me before you order and I can create a custom listing, or just order and I'll refund any excess postage fees. Thank you.)
