Here is a peaceful, loving, and gentle little Shinto Jizo in his (her?) very own shrine, like a mini kamidana. This little Jizo guardian feels very calm and like a reassuring hug. (And he is removable: he's not attached to his shrine.)
The shrine is 6.7cm tall and around 4.2cm deep, and Jizo is 2.6cm tall. Both are made of stoneware. They've been fired once, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the beautiful effects of fire and smoke.
Please note that this little Jizo does not sit perfectly flat in his shrine. It in no way affects anything and he's quite happy as he is, but he does have a slight angle, so I wanted to mention it just in case!
Jizo is a Japanese Shinto spirit, a kami who found his way to Japan through Buddhism. He is a guardian of women, children, and travellers; he comforts us through grief and bereavement.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, gentleness, and spirit to the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with natural materials.
(I am happy to combine postage on all items. Please either message me before you order and I can create a custom listing, or just order and I'll refund any excess postage fees. Thank you.)
