These forest kami kodama nature spirits seem to come out of the clay when I'm feeling particularly peaceful, looking out of the window at the trees and sky. Whether they are spirits of the forest itself or kodama of trees, I don't know, but their energy is always beautiful and calming. It reminds me of simple joys and natural wonder. This one stands at 3.3cm tall.
He's made of stoneware, glazed with non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the gifts of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only natural materials.
