(5cm tall) Here is a forest king! He's maybe not what we'd normally think of as a king — he's gentle, joyful, and full of care for everyone who lives in the forest — but he is a king all the same. He appeared to me in the clay and told me how he should look, and I just feel happy every time I see him. He would be wonderful in a Shinto shrine or on a nature table.
He has been fired once, glazed, and then raku fired with natural wood shavings for the amazing effects of smoke and flame.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only natural materials.
