Here is a cabbage kami! I love this little nature spirit statue. He feels so full of growth, hope, joy, and sunshine. He just appeared to me out of the clay (his cabbage-leaf hair came first), and he seemed to know exactly who he was straight away. This plant elemental sculpture would be wonderful as a garden totem or talisman or for an altar or Shinto shrine. He's 5.7cm tall.
He's made of stoneware, glazed in non-toxic glaze, and raku fired for the amazing gifts of fire and smoke.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little nature, peace, and gentleness into the world. I make all of my pieces entirely by hand with only non-toxic material.
